ENGN is a training app for HYROX athletes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
Who we are
ENGN is operated by the developer of the ENGN app. For any privacy question, or to request deletion of your data, contact engnapp@outlook.com.
What we collect
Account details. Your email address and an encrypted password. We never store your password in readable form.
Training profile. Your name, target event, division, goal time, training history and weekly availability.
Training data. Sessions you log, import or sync, including duration, distance, pace, heart rate, GPS route and your rating of effort.
Apple Health data, only if you switch it on. Completed workouts, including duration, distance, route and heart rate. This includes workouts written to Apple Health by other apps such as Garmin Connect or COROS.
Coach conversations. Questions you ask the in-app coach and the replies you receive.
What we do not collect
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not use advertising identifiers, and there is no advertising in ENGN.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers.
We do not access your Apple Health data unless you explicitly turn on Health sync, and ENGN only ever reads from Apple Health. It never writes to it.
Why we collect it
Every item above exists to make the app work: to build and adapt your training plan, to estimate your race time, and to keep your data available when you sign in on another device. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond running ENGN for you.
Where it is stored
Your training data is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, on our servers so it can restore after signing in again. Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS.
Third parties we rely on
Cloudflare hosts our servers and database.
OpenAI processes coach conversations and workout screenshot imports. Relevant training context is sent to generate a reply. It is not used to train their models.
Apple handles any subscription payment. We never see or store your card details.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Your controls
Export your data at any time from Settings, Account security and data.
Delete your account and all cloud data from the same screen. Deletion is permanent.
Turn off Apple Health sync in ENGN, or revoke access entirely in the iPhone Health app under Sharing.
Turn off notifications in ENGN or in iOS Settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your cloud data is removed. Data held on your own device is removed when you delete the app.
Children
ENGN is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. The export and delete tools in the app cover most of these directly. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Training safety. ENGN provides general training guidance, not medical advice. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. Stop training and seek medical care if you experience chest pain, fainting, severe breathlessness or any other alarming symptom. You remain responsible for deciding whether a session is safe for you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
